I am in a DNP program. I am currently a PMHNP for adolescents and children been one for about a year with 10 years of mental health experience and want to open my own practice

General Instructions 

This discussion represents the third and final step in a three-step discussion series where you will choose your pathophysiology adventure to analyze and present to the class. You will continue to explore the disease process that you chose in Week 2.

 In this final step of the discussion series, you will present the case study that you created in Week 5 on your chosen disease process from Week 2 to the class using the required template Download required templateOpen this document with ReadSpeaker docReader. 

Your presentation will be recorded in video format using Kaltura and should be presented as if you are teaching the client who was just diagnosed with your chosen condition from Week 2 and their family. You will then do a peer review for another student who chose a different condition. Include the following sections:  

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.

The presentation should incorporate the case study you created in Week 5 and the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and diagnosis of your selected condition as if you are teaching it to the client in the case study. 2. Record your presentation in a video format (~2-5 min) using Kaltura. Ensure clarity in the audio and visual elements of the presentation. 
3. Submit the Kaltura recording link of your presentation in your discussion post.  
4. After posting your presentation link, watch the presentation of one of your classmates with a different condition. Provide a response to their post offering constructive feedback focusing on the accuracy of the information, their presentation skills, and whether the presentation is appropriately targeted to the client in the case study. 

2. Integration of Evidence: Integrate relevant scholarly sources as defined by program expectationsLinks to an external site.:  

1. Cite a scholarly source in the initial post. 
2. Cite a scholarly source in one faculty response post. 
3. Cite a scholarly source in one peer post. 
4. Accurately analyze, synthesize, and/or apply principles from evidence with no more than one short quote (15 words or less) for the week.  
5. Include a minimum of two different scholarly sources per week. Cite all references and provide references for all citations. 

1. Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.  

2. Reference Citation: Use current APA format to format citations and references free of errors

In the context of health promotion, Family Nurse  Practitioners (FNPs) often work with diverse populations that have  varied health needs and barriers to care. Reflect on a case or scenario  from your clinical experience or studies where you encountered  challenges in promoting health within a specific population.

Post your discussion to the Moodle Discussion Forum. Every  student must provide a substantive response to the topic of the  discussion (the initial post must be minimum 500 words) and post a  minimum of two additional responses to peers (minimum 150 words).

Choose a "Disease/Disorder" from the Body Systems: Diabetes Mellitus 

Describe the physiological functions of the specified organ in the context of diabetes mellitus. 

What causes diabetes mellitus? How is it diagnosed (test run, blood work, etc)?  

What are the symptoms (how do they present themselves)?
What is the treatment and/or prognosis? How effective is the treatment usually?  

What medications are used?
Who does the disease/disorder affect? Adults, children, etc.
What procedure would a physician perform to eradicate this diseased organ?  

Why it's essential that we be informed?  Do you have any personal experience with the Disease or Disorder?
 

Discuss the importance of considering not only the physical symptoms but also the psychosocial and emotional aspects of patients with complex disease management. How can nurses incorporate a holistic approach in the care of these patients? Share examples of effective holistic interventions or strategies used for patients with complex diseases. How do these approaches contribute to enhancing patient outcomes and overall well-being? 

Initial discussion question posts should be a minimum of 200 words and include at least two references cited using APA format.
