The Impact of Future Trends

This course has highlighted the significance of HRM strategies in leading business and organizational success. As you conclude this course, consider the HRM strategies you will use as future trends emerge and reflect on how the modern workplace has evolved.

In this discussion, you will evaluate how these future trends could impact HR and how they can be applied to enhance real-world HR practices. In your initial post, address the following prompts:

  • How can future HRM trends be applied to enhance real-world HR practices? Provide specific examples of how these trends can be implemented in your job or a job you are interested in.
  • What emerging trends and technologies do you believe will impact these systems the most?
  • Reflect on how the knowledge gained in this course has prepared you for future HR roles.
  • Explore resources and certifications available for HR professionals to continue their development.

Support your arguments with evidence from the course materials, readings, or external sources. Make your arguments more compelling by sharing concrete examples to illustrate your points. Finally, relate your response to broader course themes or real-world applications.

Have you ever seen a team that works seamlessly together? It could have been a work team, school team, volunteer team, or even a sports team. When teams work well together, it seems that everything falls into place and runs smoothly. Everyone knows exactly what to do and when. This is called a high-performing team, and they do not happen overnight. Team members work hard and go through stages before becoming a high-performing team.

Maybe, you have been on a team or seen a team that cannot seem to have anything go right—a sports team that cannot get the ball through the hoop or soccer ball into the goal, a work team disagreeing on every detail, or a volunteer team not wanting to listen to anyone. It will happen at some point. You will see teams that work well together and teams that do not work at all together. Companies want to create high-performance teams because they work well together and increase productivity for the company.

Watch this video: Building High-Performance Teams.

    • What are some ideas that can help a low-performing team become a high-performing team?

          Scenario

You are the Quality Director of a local health system. Your organization has decided to seek accreditation through the Joint Commission. Your first task has been penned by the CEO to prepare for the accreditation process by conducting a literature review on the impact of accreditation on quality of care. The review of literature should include the historical underpinnings of quality initiatives since the publishing of the blockbuster report by the Institute of Medicine – To Err is Human – and an evaluation of the developments in quality initiatives over the past two decades. Upon completing the review of literature, you are asked to compile a report highlighting the history of quality improvement and the significance of quality initiatives on the future of care delivery. Your report should support the organization’s goal of earning accreditation through the Joint Commission.

          Instructions

Complete a report that encompasses the history of Quality Healthcare, which focuses on the ways in which quality improvement has changed over time and how past initiatives shape current and future quality initiatives. At a minimum, your report should include:

          • An assessment of the accreditation process and its role in improving quality of care.
          • A review of the quality initiatives that have been developed in recent years and the impact of the initiatives on the quality of care delivered.
          • Support for accreditation based on the review of literature on quality from the historical perspective to future implications.
          • A discussion on the fundamental changes that have been implemented since the IOM’s report and potential for continuous quality improvement.

Recommendations for your organization to prepare for the accreditation process based on your review of literature and your assessment of the overall process.
