Week 4 Discussion:Discuss how using KPI milestones could also be used by business analysts

Think about a business project on which you have worked. How would you apply an enterprise analysis framework to this project? The BABOK® Guide talks about key performance indicators (KPIs) in Section 10.28 as tools that measure progress toward a strategic goal and aid in enterprise analysis. Discuss how using KPI milestones could also be used by business analysts as a communication tool during the evaluation stage. Why are strong communication skills important to today’s business analysts? In addition to peer-reviewed academic journal articles, back up all opinions with foundation knowledge from the BABOK Guide and in-class lessons.

You have been charged with developing a Quick Facts Information Sheet on the Risks of E-cigarettes for Kids, Teens, and Young Adults.

You start with the following information below: what else do you believe would be important to include in your one page FLYER.

Create a flyer to use in a community outreach clinic with your teens and young adults. Please include references on a separate page. Review the rubric to avoid losing EASY points.

          What Are E-cigarettes?

          • E-cigarettes are electronic devices that heat a liquid and produce an aerosol, or mix of small particles in the air.
          • E-cigarettes come in many shapes and sizes. Most have a battery, a heating element, and a place to hold a liquid.
          • Some e-cigarettes look like regular cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. Some look like USB flash drives, pens, and other everyday items. Larger devices such as tank systems, or “mods,” do not look like other tobacco products.
          • E-cigarettes are known by many different names. They are sometimes called “e-cigs,” “e-hookahs,” “mods,” “vape pens,” “vapes,” “tank systems,” and “electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).”
          • Using an e-cigarette is sometimes called “vaping.”

Create a flyer to use in a community outreach clinic with your teens and young adults.

Please ensure you cite all your sources on a separate page and be creative.

8-2 LEPHR: violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

As the start-up continues to scale and grow, the chief human resources officer (CHRO) has observed a noticeable uptick in complaints from present and former employees based on real or perceived violations of local, state, and federal employment laws. Complaints such as violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and pay, along with allegations of discrimination and wrongful termination, have started to grow along with the organization. While not having a significant impact on the business, the importance of firmly establishing consistent business practices to support employment law requirements is a concern with the continued growth planned.

          Directions

After reviewing recent concerns, the CHRO and in-house counsel have asked you to craft an email to share with leaders across the organization. For this email, you have been asked to select three to four employment laws that you feel are important. While the code of conduct, policies, and other annual and new-employee training sessions are sufficient, the time has come to ensure that the leaders understand their role in supporting employment law within the organization.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

          1. Email Considerations: Prepare an email that includes an appropriate subject line, recipients, date and time, and signature.
            1. It is important to consider precisely what group the email will be sent to. Will it be sent as a company communication in which employees can “reply all” or as a “BCC” in which employees will not be able to respond? Why is it important that this group receive this email?
          2. Ethical Implications: Describe the ethical implications that should be considered in the situation provided.
          3. Legal Implications: Describe legal implications that should be considered in the situation, including specific laws applicable.
          4. Specific Approach: Recommend a specific approach for meeting organizational needs while maintaining ethical and responsible practices.
